When I was called upon to help a Navy Seal and his wife with the purchase of their first home, I didn’t take the job lightly. I usually pride myself on taking on challenges and going the extra mile for my clients and this was yet another wonderful opportunity to do that. I also felt incredibly privileged to serve this military couple, and somehow be helpful in return for their tremendous service.
When they described their perfect home, I knew it was also the perfect home for many other families:
- Near the ocean
- Nice yard
- Walkable to restaurants and nearby shopping.
We toured all the homes on the market that fit the criteria and even some that didn’t, so they could solidify and confirm their requirements. It turns out they wanted to be really close to the ocean. There was nothing on the market. Their lease was coming up in less than 3 months. So I tapped into my creativity and explored every avenue I could think of to find potential homes upcoming on the market. And I found one. It turned out to be the perfect fit, both for them and for the sellers. We worked hard and I took on as much of the transaction management as I possibly could, and we ended up with a win-win situation all around. There was even room for them to have a wedding and graduation amidst everything, despite the time and energy commitment of buying a home and the fact that they were only available during weekends. When there is a will, there truly is a way. The best part? My clients are happy.
